Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for this website is:
Santiago Vidal Guevara, self-employed
Triq Bordino 9
San Pawl il-Baħar, Malta
Email: santiagoguevara045@gmail.com
This policy explains what happens to your information when you use this site. It is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Maltese data protection law.
The calculator does not collect anything
This is the most important point on the page. Every figure you enter into the calculator — salaries, tax status, dates of birth, results — is processed entirely inside your own web browser using JavaScript. Those figures are never transmitted to this website, never stored on any server, and never seen by us or by anyone else. Close the tab and they are gone. Salary information is confidential, and the tool is built so that it never has to leave your device in the first place.
Server logs
This site is hosted by Hostinger. Like every web host, their servers automatically record standard technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser type and operating system, and the referring page. These logs exist for security and to keep the service running. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors, and they are retained only for the period applied by the hosting provider.
If you email us
If you contact us at the address above, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you and to handle any resulting enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence, or the taking of steps prior to entering a contract where you are enquiring about a service (Article 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR). Email is handled through Google's Gmail service. We keep correspondence only as long as needed for the matter it concerns, and for any period required by Maltese tax or accounting law.
Analytics
This site does not currently use any analytics or visitor-tracking service. No analytics cookies are set.
Advertising and cookies
This site is in the process of enabling advertising through Google AdSense. A Google AdSense script is loaded on every page so that Google can review the site; at this stage it does not yet serve any adverts or set any advertising cookies.
Once advertising goes live, third-party vendors including Google will use cookies to serve and measure ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Before that happens, a certified consent banner will be added for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, so that advertising and measurement cookies are only set with your agreement, and you can withdraw it at any time. The legal basis for those cookies will be your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
You can already opt out of personalised advertising across the web at Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing. Data is processed by our hosting provider (Hostinger) and our email provider (Google) purely so that the site and our inbox work. Where advertising is activated in future, Google will act as an independent controller for advertising data, as described in the section above.
Transfers outside the EU
Some of the providers above may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email santiagoguevara045@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.
If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you may lodge a complaint with the Maltese supervisory authority: the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC), Floor 2, Airways House, High Street, Sliema SLM 1549, Malta — idpc.org.mt.
Children
This site is a business tool aimed at employers. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
